Creepy Crawlies: Home

Here are lots of resources to learn about creepy crawlies!

Description

The World Book Online says...

Insects are small animals with six legs. Bees, ants, wasps, butterflies, cockroaches, and ladybugs are insects. So are mosquitoes, grasshoppers, and fleas.

There are about a million kinds of insects, and they live everywhere. Insects can be found in tropical jungles and in the Arctic cold. They live high in the mountains and in low, dry deserts.

Many people think that spiders are insects, but they aren't. Spiders have eight legs, but insects have six legs. A spider's body has two main parts, but an insect's body has three main parts. Also, most insects have wings and antennae <<an TEHN ee>> , or long, thin feelers. Spiders have no antennae.
